The Broom Tree board members want to help those in CENLA with disabilities. We want to help the families with the financial side, the finding and providing resources side, and maybe, most importantly, the building community and friendship side!

When we started in 2018, we had general ideas of ways to help. But, as time has gone on and we have been given the opportunity to meet families both virtually through The Broom Tree (private) parents FB page and in person at events, we were able to hone to specific needs to be met.

The 1st being our quarterly Coffee Talk, where we have speakers share helps, resources and ideas relevant to families dealing with disabilities. This is also a great time to meet other families, to share ideas, struggles and ask all the questions.

The other new program I’d like to share with you is the mentor/mentee program. This program gives parents the ability to find another parent/caregiver who has a child (young or old) with a similar diagnoses as yours. For those veteran parents, who are ready to help those walking the path you’ve walked, fill out the mentor application.

For those new to this journey, looking for some guidance, fill out the mentee application. We will do our very best to set you up as soon as possible!

If you have any questions or want to share some topics for Coffee Talk, email us @Broomtreecenla@gmail.com

We look forward to meeting you!
